Pisco is a popular South American brandy made from grapes. It’s a clear and colorless spirit that is distilled in Chile and Peru. The name “pisco” is derived from the Quechua word pishku, which means “bird”.
Pisco has a strong and distinctive flavor that can be enjoyed neat or as part of a cocktail. It is often used in the popular South American cocktail, Pisco Sour. This cocktail is made with pisco, lime juice, simple syrup, and egg whites. It is then shaken and served over ice.
Pisco is also a popular ingredient in other cocktails such as the Chilcano, which is a Peruvian cocktail made with pisco, ginger ale, and lime juice. It can also be used in place of other clear spirits such as vodka or gin.
Pisco has a long history, with the first distillery established in Peru in 1551. Since then, it has become a popular spirit throughout the world. It is especially popular in South America, where it is often served neat or with a few drops of lime juice.
