This trip will provide you with panoramic views of Arequipa. At 7:30 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel. Then we’ll go to the Carmen Alto neighborhood. Once there, we’ll go to a neighboring viewpoint, from which we’ll be able to see the incredible Arequipa volcanoes. We’ll see the volcanoes Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu. Then we’ll go to the Yanahuara neighborhood.
Yanahuara is well-known for its numerous colonial structures made of sillar. The sillar is composed of white volcanic rock. Arequipa has earned the moniker “Peru’s White City” due to its unusual construction material. Following that, we will tour Arequipa’s old city center.
First, we will enter Arequipa’s Cathedral, which is located in the Plaza de Armas. This massive structure was constructed in the 17th century. Then, we shall go to the historic Jesuit Convent. We will then enter the beautiful Santa Catalina monastery. These catholic monuments were constructed during Peruvian colonial times.
